Research meeting within Organic and Printed Electronics held by Norrköping Science Park   2009-03-02
Organic and Printed Electronics are popular research areas for many seats of learning and institutions in Sweden. Their research is, to a certain amount, conducted in different directions, but many have similar interests and therefore need to meet and participate in discussions.

To facilitate for an exchange of experiences between the groups which can lead to common projects and also to bring about better transparency for contributing authorities and private businesses, the Vinnväxt-initiative Printed Electronics Arena (PEA) invited various research groups, active in this area, to a day where they could exchange views and experiences.

On 15 January 20 people active within the research sector met at Norrköping Science Park. The programme for the day provided opportunity to discuss interest in this field. In what way it would be possible to create better transparency of this field for the business sector and society as a whole, thus opening the way for commercialisation of research. The common problems and projects that exist at present and their solutions were also discussed.

One very interesting issue that was raised involved: How can Printed Electronics be positioned internationally based on a Swedish perspective? The general opinion was that through increased cooperation and the exchange of experiences and prototype production in Sweden, greater opportunities to complement one another would contribute towards strengthening Sweden’s role of being in the forefront of research. Other views included arranging various postgraduate courses which were of common interest.
